Hi, I'm Edy, aka Clothwitch
I have many childhood memories of riding in a shopping cart alongside bolts of fabric while my mom searched for the perfect materials for her own projects. I remember making a tiny quilt for the family cat and lots of doll clothes as I experimented with my mom's sewing tools.
As a teenager in the late 1990's, I started to alter thrift store finds for myself and for friends. I also fell deeply in love with vintage clothing and the rebellious and imaginative alternative styles of counter cultures via music and books.
I worked my way through the food industry in my 20's and eventually completed my BA in Apparel, Textiles & Design with a minor in Theatre Costuming in my early 30s. I worked in the sewn product industry for 5+ years before deciding that it wasn't for me. I wanted to limit waste, reduce harm, and increase joy- which meant that mass producing anything was off the table.
And so Clothwitch was born. My mission is to create meaningful art that leans on my love of theatre costuming, thrift store shopping, vintage clothing, music, and counter cultures. I create with the intention of making pieces that will become your new favorite thing to wear and treasure for years to come.
